If you think there are no sex offenders living in your area you are more then likely mistaken. You hear people saying that if there was a predator in their neighborhood they would know it because the neighborhood is so close. That is another common mistake. Sex offenders look like everyone else and act the same in public as well. Do not look for the “boogie man”. What makes them so dangerous is the fact that they are so regular looking. Seldom are there red flags and if there are we have to look hard to find them usually. They work among us and live among us as well. There is a database that you can log onto and get the information you need to keep your family safe. When you go to the Kansas sex offender reports you can get a detailed report on where the offenders live in your neighborhood and your area. Then you can be aware and make your children aware. This is a good time to go over the safety rules again, also. Children need to know how to keep themselves safe,too. It is never a good idea to leave your young children playing outside without adult supervision. You should always know where your older children are as well. You do not want your child to become a victim. We do anything that we can to protect our children so be informed.
