When the summer months get here the first thing that is on everyone’s mind is vacation. There are some exciting places to go experience ancient cultures and history. One place rich in culture that many people have on the top of their wish list to visit is China. Up till 2004, I never watched a full episode Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. It was a tad outdated for my tastes. Granted, I had seen clips of the show while waiting for the commercials to end on whatever other new year’s eve show I happened to be watching, but it was only because anything was better than watching commercials.
Then it happened. In 2006 while watching new year’s eve shows on satellite tv, I again flipped over to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve to avoid some more dreaded commercials and learned that the show was now known as Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. While I wasn’t a fan of Seacrest’s or anything like that, I found the show to be humorous with his addition. Whether intentional or not, Seacrest is just funny. The guests seemed to be upgraded as well. Maybe it was just my imagination, but I’m pretty sure that they rarely had musical guests before and the ones they did have I’d never heard of.
Anyway, since Seacrest took over the show, I remember Christina Aguilera, Fergie, Taylor Swift and Daughtry. There were also a whole bunch of younger singers that I’d never heard of, but at least I’d never heard of them because I’m too old to know who those kids are and not because I’m too young to know who those old geezers are.
Shoppers are becoming more careful with their dollars thanks to an unstable economy. People are still willing to spend but they want the most for their money. This means companies such as the online shopping ShopWiki are offering shopping deals from over 30,000 different online stores are seeing the shopping boom. You can buy everything from a Blu-Ray player that is on the top of many holiday lists to Home Theatre when you shop on ShopWiki. There is one thing for sure we as a viewing public all enjoy our television time. We enjoy having a wide selection of programs to choose from to suite what ever mood we are in when we sit down for entertainment.It seems that everyone has their favorite show and genre of shows that draws them to their televisions. We also enjoy getting our news from our televisions so we can stay informed on events of the world. The world is ever changing so staying informed is a good idea. This desire to stay entertained and informed can lead people to services like direct tv. My sister in-law tells me that there are direct tv packages designed to save her money. Her directtv installed at her home in a few hours . The dishes are so small that they can go anywhere they need to and not have any effect on the look of your home. The large dishes of yesteryear are gone and in their places are the smaller and sleeker dishes that are much less obtrusive. Television has come a long way since the old days of three channels and black/white TV’s, thank goodness for that.
Some thing a little different. World of Warcraft characters dance along with some of the favorite all time dance videos. This is good for a quick laugh and you will not look at the Warcraft characters the same as you did before. One a bunch of war mongols ready to rip the the head off anyone in their path to Gene, Gene the dancing machines.
